Brooke Taphorn
A passionate rider, colt starter, trainer, and riding coach. I am competitive with my two amazing mares, my Thoroughbred, Angel, and my Friesian Sport Horse, Zoom. I compete in Jumpers with Angel. This year, we proudly stepped into the 1.10m ring, and we also cross-train with obstacles and cross-country. Zoom and I compete in Extreme Cowboy Racing and cross-train with some low jumping. We are gearing up for more cowboy races across the province this season and can’t wait for the adventures ahead. We have our sights set on winning our first belt buckle this year. I will be developing my three-year-old Warmblood Colt, Salem, to take me to Spruce Meadows when he is old enough.

Olivia Stafford
Hi, my name is Olivia Stafford and I am 11 years old and I compete in 3 day eventing which includes dressage, show jumping and cross country jumping. I board and ride at Extreme Stables near Ponoka Alberta which is owned by my Aunt Angie Golley. Horses and eventing have been in my life since I was born. My mom competed along with both my Aunt's and my 2 older cousins. I get off the bus from school at the barn and spend most of my time outside of school at the barn riding and hanging out with my friends & family. I do chores every Sunday to help pay towards my board. I also enjoy riding other peoples horse when they are away. I have weekly jump and dressage lessons with my coaches Mikayla Hoffman and Angie Golley. Outside of riding I enjoy Skiing, Volleyball, Basketball and spending time with family & friends.
My 2 current partners are Eli and Fly. Eli is a 19 year old TB who is owned by my coach and older cousin Mikayla Hoffman and has been with my family since he was 5 years old. Eli has competed to the advanced level/3* with Mikayla. Eli is smart, quick, alittle bit quirky, a cross country machine, beautiful and loves to jump. This is my second season with Eli. Last year we finished 2nd in the province for Alberta Horse Trials in the EV-85 division. We finished in the top 3 in every event we attended including Rebecca Farm in Kalispell Montana. In September I got a new project horse named Fly who is a TB and is 14 years old. Fly was an out riding horse on the chuckwagons for 4 years and now has had a career change with me turning him into a 3 day eventer. Fly has caught onto jumping very quickly. He is brave, bold, cute and so much fun to ride. We recently did a clinic with Olympian Jessica Phoenix and Fly was a superstar. Bring on the Riding Season!!

Bret Delorme
Hi! My name is Bretleigh Delorme. I’m a 14-year-old barrel racer and breakaway roper with a passion for developing horses both in and out of the arena. This season, I’ll be competing in the WRA, LRA, ABRA, and the McDonald Canadian Open Rodeos. Two of the three horses I’ll be competing on this year are ones I’ve trained myself, and I’m proud of the success we’ve built together through hard work and dedication. I’m currently homeschooled, which allows me to spend extra time riding, training, and developing future performance horses. When I’m not at the barn, I stay active playing club volleyball during the winter season.
Michelle Hebert

I’m a married mom of two grown boys who used to ride steers and do 4H rodeo. I now barrel race, do gymkhana and enter a local horse show or two each year. I also love going to yaha to ride. I run our indoor riding arena hosting clinic, hosting gymkhanas and ABRA’s, Gymkhana practices. When I’m not doing all that or working full time I’m also part of the water Jahns choir, SDA choir, teach paint nights and craft night as well as professional pencil sketch. After I had cancer in 2020 I said life’s too short and I live each minute to the fullest. So I go to all the jackpots I can! From Vulcan, Strathmore, consort, Ponoka, Viking, bigger Sask , you name it! My new mare and I won two buckles, some bits and bobs of tacks and $4500 last year (we spent at least that but it was fun). I run a 15 yr old mare named So Much Legacy (Bailey) and a 21 yr old mare LCL Plain Stop The Clock (Ritz). Bailey and I have also been to a few shows and ridden English, reining classes, costume and trail ! Ritz and Bailey look at lot alike. Bailey is bigger and slightly darker!
Marissa Helmer
My name is Marissa Helmer, I have been riding and competing in various events since I was very young. My main focus now is barrel racing on my mare Lucky!! We are very excited about gaining more knowledge and experience over the 2026 season!! I am thrilled to be an ambassador for Ropes and Reins and cannot wait to share all our adventures throughout the year.
Stephanie Perrow
Hi I’m Stephanie Perrow. I live in Yellowhead County. I am wife, mother, and Gigi. I started barrel racing 3 years ago. Why I start was because my daughter barrel races, so I thought I am already there why not try it. So here I am started on my Smokey. Smokey is 21 year old. I wanted him to teach me how to build my confidence and help me become a better rider. I am not the fastest and not the most experienced. I go out try my hardest and stay positive. Set my goals every year try to accomplish them.
The one thing I like to do is cheer on my friends and other's when they are competing especially new riders that are nerves and new to the sport. I know how hard it is to try something new. I like to show people you don't have to be the best or fastest just try your hardest. JUST HAVE FUN!!

Lilah Vossler
Hello! My name is Lilah Vossler, I am 17 years old and have been riding since I could walk. My whole life I have been heavily involved with rodeo and 4H which have both incredibly impacted my view on life in and out of the arena. I am a firm believer in learn to do by doing as well as being the reason that someone feels valued, not invisible. Barrel racing is my main event but if given the opportunity I truly love doing everything and anything involving horses. Last year I rode on the grand entry team for Ponoka Stampede and plan to return this year. I have two horses, Jersey; aka Hitch N A Double, being my main. She is a 9 year old Quarter Horse/ Appaloosa cross with an incredibly large personality, I have been riding her for a year and lease her from Crossbell Performance Horses. My second girl is a 4 year old grade Quarter Horse named Batman. I got her in October and have been doing fundamental training with her as well as starting her on the barrel pattern; 2026 will be her debut year! I am incredibly blessed and grateful to be apart of such an amazing team this year and look forward to growing with my fellow team members this coming season:)

Kayden Pevach
Hi! My name is Kayden Pevach, and I’ve been involved with horses for about five years now. What started as something small quickly turned into a huge passion for rodeo, specifically barrel racing and breakaway roping. My main barrel horse is my mare Ripley, who has helped me grow so much as a rider and continues to push me to be better every run. I also breakaway rope off my mare Paradise, who has been a great partner to help build my confidence. I love the process of working with my horses, improving my skills, and continuing to grow as a competitor. Rodeo has given me so many opportunities to learn and build great memories along the way. During the summer you can usually find me traveling to jackpots and rodeos around Saskatchewan and Alberta, spending time with friends who love horses just as much as me and doing what I love in and out of the arena. I’m excited to keep improving this season and see what the future holds with my horses.
