Red Light Therapy

At Ropes and Reins, we are proud to offer red light therapy as part of our equine wellness and recovery services. Red light therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate deep into tissues, stimulating cellular repair and improving circulation. This allows your horse’s body to naturally heal more efficiently while supporting overall performance and comfort.

Benefits for Recovery & Performance

Red light therapy is widely used to help horses recover faster from injuries, strains, and everyday wear and tear. By increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation, it promotes faster healing of soft tissue, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Many horse owners notice improved mobility, reduced soreness, and quicker return to work after consistent treatments.

Supporting Healing & Reducing Scar Tissue

One of the key advantages of red light therapy is its ability to support proper tissue repair while minimizing excessive scar tissue formation. Healthier tissue regeneration leads to better long-term outcomes, especially for performance horses where flexibility and range of motion are essential. This makes it an excellent option for both injury rehabilitation and preventative maintenance.

Customized Care for Your Horse

Every horse is different, which is why we tailor our red light therapy sessions to your horse’s specific needs whether it’s targeting a localized injury, supporting full-body recovery, or maintaining peak performance. At Ropes and Reins, we combine hands-on experience with a strong background in equine care to ensure your horse receives safe, effective, and personalized treatment.

Our red light therapy sessions typically run between 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated and your horse’s specific needs. We use professional-grade red light pads and boots that offer three adjustable intensity levels 660nm, 850nm, and 940nm allowing us to tailor each session for optimal results and comfort. In addition to light intensity, our equipment also features a throbbing (pulse) and stroke mode, which helps further stimulate circulation, enhance tissue response, and maximize the overall effectiveness of the treatment.
